    Songkok is the Traditional hat that can be found in many countries at South East Asia. Songkok is the mostly worn by the Malay people and it’s a symbolic in Malay Culture. Songkok can be part as a perfect match for “Baju Melayu” another traditional Malay dress that always been worn by the Malay people. In Malay community, Songkok has been worn as a official head wearing to attend official ceremonies such wedding ceremony, Friday prayers, rituals and during the Hari Raya Aidil Fitri and Hari Raya Aidil Adha . Songkok is also used by military and police forces of Malaysia in certain ceremonies. This Songkok is also the most popular traditional hat among the Malay Community in Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Brunei and Southern Thailand. History had been told that the origin of this Songkok is come from “FeZ” that is always been used by the Otthoman Turkey and it’s become a symbol identity of islam. Some of the expert says that this “FeZ” has became more popular among the indian muslim community and later turned into a Songkok in the Malay History World…

In Malay Literature, Songkok has been mentioned in the Poem of Siti Zubaidah Chinesse War (1840) “in White shirt wift the Red Songkok ” .
